Maws 35 Makers, Artists, Workshops and Shops housed in the Victorian factory building of Maw & Co, a great place to shop, eat and learn. Free entry and free parking.

Maws Craft Centre is situated in the picturesque Ironbridge Gorge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, 1.5 miles from the historic Iron Bridge. This refurbished former Victorian factory now comprises an eclectic mix of arts & crafts studios and galleries, craft supply shops, a chocolatier and an artisan food producer, holistic therapists, antique & vintage shops, and a café/restaurant. Our courtyard is

used to host events including open air concerts, Heritage days, outdoor art exhibitions, and seasonal fairs. The Centre is open seven days a week but please note that all businesses are individually run and have their specific opening times. Please call first before travelling if you want to visit a particular studio, contact details are on our website www.mawscraftcentre.co.uk.

Two very contrasting views of Maws over the years, on Salthouse Road. The workers appear to be working on a track line in front of the eight huge brick built kilns. These have long since disappeared, to be replaced with sleepy, sun dappled back gardens.

Maws was once the largest encaustic tile factory in the world, but is now home to some of the finest artists and makers in Shropshire. Come along for an inspiring few hours and relax a while at The Tile Press Cafe.
