🍂WINTER/ SPRING - GARDEN TIPS

With winter coming to an end, here are some practical, timely winter season garden prep tips you can tackle right now to keep things tidy, protected, and ready for spring:

Remove dead foliage and debris - Clear away collapsed perennials, mushy stems, and lingering leaves to prevent pests and disease.

Use garden bags for easy clean up - They’re ideal for collecting pruning’s, leaves, and windblown debris—especially after recent storms.

Prune roses (Jan–Feb) - Most roses benefit from a winter prune before new growth starts. Remove dead or damaged stems and shape the plant

Plant bare root trees and shrubs - Winter is the perfect time for bare root fruit trees, roses, and hedging.

Mulch beds generously - Add compost, bark, or well rotted manure to insulate roots and improve soil structure.

Top up raised beds - Winter is ideal for adding fresh compost or soil amendments.
