Like the title of the 2012 biography
of Sir.John Kyffin Williams by David Meredith & John Smith, I am obsessed by Impasto paintings, Georgian Sofas, Art books & Elderflower.
•
Really enjoyed staging this set, most conveniently an Elder tree was in flower near by which brought it all together nicely.
•
Williams spent his life as an ambassador for art in Wales, painting rugged land scapes of his beloved Anglesey for which he is loved revered.
Here we have a substantial oil on canvas c1970’s
(56 x76 cms) of The Moelwyns in Snowdonia.
Utterly beautiful.
•
You’d be forgiven for mistaking the clean lines and elegance of this large sofa (215 cms long) to be mid century but the perfect pad feet are pure Georgian. And it comes with good provenance.
•
So I shall now sit back and enjoy my cordial from the floral pottery jug by Glyn Colledge for Denby c1970 listening to The Manic Street Preachers frontman James Dean Bradfield singing ‘Which way to Kyffin’
