"Pointing out problems with the status quo will always provoke defensiveness and discomfort. The threats we face are urgent. Yet while diving in to ‘save the world’ may make us feel better, it may not have the impact we want.

"I'm inviting us to pause for a moment, even though it’s all very pressing, and think together - whether you are a change-maker already, or might consider it if only change makers weren’t so weird sometimes - about how we try to save the world. About how we show up."

Author and campaigner Anthea Lawson's new book ‘How Not to Save the World’ is a reflection on the reality of campaigning in modern times.

It will appeal to anyone who has ever felt the gap between their convictions and their capacity to act - it's a book about doing good, for anyone who has looked at politics or public discourse and thought, ‘we need better than this.’
