MEM Cinema and Music Memorablia

MEM Cinema and Music Memorablia We deal in original Music & Cinema memorabilia, focusing on the 1960's & 1970's, with a special emphasis on Posters. MEM has been trading since 1998.

We also run the online archive dedicated to Tom Chantrell, the legendary British Cinema Poster artist. Mike Bloomfield began collecting original Cinema & Music memorabilia back in the 1980's & after a 15-year career in the City, Mike established MEM in order to turn his hobby into a business. MEM sell online, through various select external shows & exhibitions & also via a large network of private

clients. As MEM continue to buy-in, so the stock is continually changing. In addition MEM also provides a consultancy service to both the Auction & Insurance industries & Mike Bloomfield works as a valuation expert for Worthpoint, the Internet Antiques & Memorabilia valuation service. Mike is always happy to advise new collectors & veteran enthusiasts alike & is always interested in purchasing choice items or entire collections. MEM's 3 key website operations are:

www.rockpopmem.com

This site specialises in Music memorabilia with a special focus on the 1960's & 1970's. The site stocks a huge range of original Posters, Flyers, Programmes, Tickets, Contracts etc. Whether you're into The Beatles or ABBA, The Sex Pistols or Bowie, this is the place to look. If you can't find what you're looking for, let us know, we can add you to our database & we'll contact you when we think we have something of interest. www.moviepostermem.com

This site contains over 3,000 items of original Cinema memorabilia, mostly Posters but also movie stills & autographs too. We tend to concentrate on material prior to the late 1980's. Up to this time, Cinema Posters were predominantly based on original painted artwork & it tends to be this kind of material that is most highly valued in the market. We have plenty of material by the leading British posters artists such as Tom Chantrell, Brian Bysouth & Vic Fair & also have pieces by American artists such as Bob Peak & Drew Struzan. There are also some great Posters by European artists like Arnaldo Putzu & Renato Fratini. All our material is original. We do not deal in reproductions. www.chantrellposter.com

Most commercial artists did not keep their own work but the British Cinema Poster artist Tom Chantrell did fortunately retain some of his artwork & Posters. Mike Bloomfield has been working with the Chantrell family & the author of "British Film Posters", Sim Branaghan, to develop an online archive dedicated to the life & work of Tom Chantrell. As the creator of such iconic Posters as "Star Wars", "One Million Years BC", various Hammer Horror Posters & the earliest "Carry On" Posters too, the Chantrell website is well worth a visit. Here you can learn about Tom's career & view an array of his Posters & a few of the original pieces of artwork still surviving. Material is steadily being added & is available for purchase.

The final film in the Michael Caine-Harry Palmer Trilogy, Billion Dollar Brain (1967). This Quad poster sports funky Pop-Art graphics, very different to the marketing for the first two films & possibly reflecting the more maverick approach of the director, Ken Russell. This poster conservation paper-backed & now listed on https://www.moviepostermem.com/

A cracking Friars line-up of the Anti-Nowhere League, Chron Gen, Chelsea & The Defects. Friars Aylesbury was one of the few provincial music venues that championed Punk in the very early days (this poster is for a 1982 gig). Highly distinctive poster graphics. Unlike the gig flyers, actual full-sized Friars gig posters are rare. We have others on the website currently: https://www.rockpopmem.com/
