Day 4 - Throwback Thursday
Did you know that we used to design, make and wholesale greetings cards? I put my art degree to good use to design and illustrate a range of handmade, handfinished cards. We exhibited at all the big trade fairs and we were stocked in lovely independent shops up and down the country. This is me winning the Best in Show award for greetings cards at our favourite trade fair, British Craft Trade Fair. (BCTF was full of wonderful independent makers, but now sadly no longer running) I loved creating and developing the card business but, as Gifted got busier, we had to decide whether to employ staff or to stop. We felt like we had scratched the itch - and decided to only make cards for Gifted in future. We don't get the time to make as many as I would like - but you can sometimes find some on our shelves here. Perhaps this reminiscing will inspire me to get making againš¤?
