Welcome to Yorkshire Sitting Pretty; I hope you find something that you like or inspires you. I am an official stockist of Frenchic Furniture Paint; a fantastic environmentally friendly chalk paint. Frenchic comes in 40 beautiful colours and doesn't contain any hidden nasties. It is so easy to use and the results are amazing! I am an enthusiastic up-cycler who enjoys the challenge of creating orig

inal, one-off pieces. As well as working on my own furniture I also accept commissions from clients who want a new look for an existing piece of furniture. I have a number of vintage items in my workshop that are ready to be painted but if necessary, I can source items for you. Upholstery is my passion and I enjoy nothing better than rescuing an old chair and giving it a new lease of life! Have a look at my ‘Before & After’ album to give you an idea of what can be achieved with time and patience. I am holding traditional and modern upholstery workshops as an introduction for those wanting to learn the craft. I am also running lampshade making courses. Frenchic workshops coming soon too!! They're back in stock! Hurray! 😃

Thank you so much to everyone who has been waiting for my IOD order to arrive - I've messaged you all individually but, just in case my emails go to spam - very rude of them - I'm popping a quick post on here too! 🤣

I was completely out of a few things and low on others but am topped up again now! 👍

I'm really pleased to have Madeleine back - this is such a beautiful transfer; the colours are gorgeous! Etiquettes is one of my favourite gilded transfers. There are so many pieces to use in this set and they look lovely when combined with the coloured transfers. Thank goodness Wreath & Swags has arrived - I love this mould - the details are amazing! Oooo I nearly forgot, IOD Brayers are back too if you're looking for one of those 😘

Anyone going to any Craft Fairs this summer? 😘

If you're looking for something that's quick and easy to create and which will make your stall look bright and colourful, why not make some coasters?

They are still some of my favourite things to do - so many different options...chalk painted, milk painted, decoupaged, stamped....I used decoupage paper for Alice and the clock coasters and Sweet Pickins Milk Paint and IOD Typesetting Stamps for the HOME coasters.

I have lots of round and square coaster blanks if you fancy giving them a go 😁 I'll pop the link below for all of my craft blanks 👇I have lots (and lots) of decoupage papers too! 😉

Hello! It's Friday already - can you believe it? It'll be December before we know it which leads me very nicely onto....

I'm sharing this Christmas pic in June (🤣) to remind you that I'm having a clearance sale of all of my WOW Embossing Powders. This lovely Santa was stamped with IOD Stamps and, if you look closely, you can see that the image is slightly raised and super glitzy. It was stamped with WOW! 🎅

The powders are great for all kinds of projects - I know that they're popular with card makers and paper crafters - and I've used mine quite a lot on decorations along with IOD stamps 👍

All pots are reduced to £2.50 each and you'll find them on my website. I'll share the link below if you fancy having a look 😎

Hello to you! 😘

My Pentart delivery has arrived- here's a small selection of lovely crafting goodies....soooo many boxes to sort out! I've spent quite a long time this morning ticking everything off and finding shelf space! It's not an easy job - my workshop needs an extension! 🤣

The eagle-eyed among you will have spotted that I now have Pentart Varnish Mist which, apparently, is the bee's knees for sealing your IOD Paint Inlays - I haven't tried it yet but it's on my list! Have you tried it? What do you think? 😁

I've updated my website so everything is available for you to peruse. Just remember to pop the kettle on before you start looking - it could take you a while to get through everything! A biscuit may be needed too! 🤣

I'm thinking I might put one of these signs up in our holiday cottage! 👍

It was so quick and easy to make! All you need is:

A craft blank/piece of wood
White Chalk Paint
Sealer/Varnish
IOD's Typesetting Stamp
Black Ink + Ink Pad

After applying a couple of coats of white paint I stamped the text and then sealed - I like to leave the ink to dry for a few hours before sealing to avoid it smudging 👍

Voila! I love this stamp set - it's definitely one of my favourites! 🧡

Sadly, I've had to stop doing upholstery - my poor hands couldn't take the strain anymore - so I have lots of supplies that I'd like to shift! See pics for some of what I have 👇

There's a gorgeous colour that's just arrived in my latest Sweet Pickins order - Harbor 🧡

It is a pretty pale blue with the tiniest hint of green - one of those lovely tranquil and peaceful kind of colours 🌸

I've seen so many creatives use it on YouTube that I thought it was about time I added it to my inventory! I'm really looking forward to trying it out! 👍

It's a mahoosive box - full of compartments to keep nik naks in! The main problem I had with it is, because it's so big, I couldn't fit it into my photos very well! 🤣

I used Sweet Pickins Milk Paint in Basil for the outside and Window Pane on the inside. I thought that both colours went really nicely with IOD's Lost Garden transfer. I used clear wax to seal and then added touches of white wax here and there over the top of the Basil to soften the look 👍

I hope that you like it; apologies that my photography skills (or lack of) aren't showing it to you at its best! 🤣

Can you guess what I've been painting? 😘

I don't know if you're like me, but once I'm having a creative streak, I don't really want to stop to take photos! Or if I've taken the photos, I forget to share them or think I've shared them and I haven't!! 🤣

Anyhoo, this mystery item has been painted in Sweet Pickins Basil - which is a gorgeous dark green - and it's been decorated with IOD's Lost Garden transfer. This transfer is a new one to me - I can't believe it's taken me so long to use it! I love it so much I've used practically all of it on various different things! 🧡
