I’m ever so grateful to my lovely customers who ordered from us on New Years Day. This festive period has been tricky both in a business sense and for my family too, so every single order has helped much more than you think. The parcels are sitting here waiting for my lovely postie to collect today.

I hope you all had a good start to the new year. I’ve been struggling because of grief, I didn’t expect it to hit me quite so much as it has but moving into another year this time without either of my parents has been very hard. My thoughts are with anyone else finding this time of year tough.

Our annual visit to the trade fair is rapidly approaching and I am excited to see what is available for Christmas 2026. The countdown is on!

What a lovely surprise I had on Christmas Day - orders pinging in while I spent time with my family. Of course, I couldn’t rest until they were boxed and ready to send. My lovely postie collected this morning so if you were shopping with us while your Christmas dinner settled then it’s on its way!

I hope you had a lovely break too, did you do the Boxing Day sales or were you making the most of time at home with friends and family?

It’s finally time to put my feet up. A huge thank you to everyone who has supported my small business this year, we’ve been to some fabulous new events and revisited some firm favourites. While I am still sending orders out over the Christmas break, most will not arrive before the big day now so please consider this before ordering. Of course it’s never too early to start prepping for 2026!

I’m having a much needed day off today.
For those who don’t know, my husband and I both work during the week alongside running the business, so when it gets to this time of year we’re flat out! Last weekend was events both days, meaning I’ve not had a ‘day off’ for almost 2 weeks.

I am however still packing and posting orders and have a trip to the stock room planned for this afternoon.

We’re at the fabulous Sheriff Hutton Village Market tomorrow for our penultimate Christmas market of 2025. Please pop along and enjoy the festive atmosphere.

Well, that was a super busy weekend!
Saturday was the first of our two December visits to The Hovingham Village Market and it was fabulous as always. Sunday saw us making the long journey to the stunning Grinkle Park Hotel for their Christmas Fayre, and we were looked after superbly. Staff were on hand to show us where to park, showed us to our table and even gave us a full pot of hot tea. The visitors flocked in and we had a very successful day. We will be back!

Today has been a day for sorting the stock tubs and now catching up on admin.

Wow! My highest value order this year saw me herding up the remaining cow baubles for a lovely customer. That means these are now sold out for Christmas 2025.

The team and I are trying to decide whether they are being given as gifts or they are going on the tree. Feeling very grateful today!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported market today, we had a fantastic day despite my bad back making everything tricky! A much needed day of rest tomorrow before a full weekend next week at on Saturday and Christmas market on Sunday.

Not many Christmas events left now but our website remains open and ready for you to shop!

Whilst we are not at Ripon this weekend, we are out at markets and share the sentiment of this post. Last year our market sales were severely impacted by me being quite poorly and in hospital. This year online sales are drastically lower so our markets really are what’s keeping us going. Every small business really appreciates every transaction you make.

You might have noticed, we're a little sporadic currently. We do let you know where we are, but a lot is going on in our lives, so trying to keep up. This weekend is the real start of Christmas markets for us, and many of the people we represent and work with, so I have a small plea.
Markets are expensive to do, and we all put our heart and souls into our businesses, for many of us what we take in the next month, gets us through winter, this year, there is a slight double edged sword for us, our son is getting married, the 21st of December, is our busiest weekend, and whilst we love what we do, our family is the reason behind us doing it, so though we won't be out trading the upside is it's family time, we're delighted to be with everyone, on the downside it's our busiest weekend, so if you see us out or want something, get it before then.

So here comes the plea, when you're stood in front of a stall or in an independent shop, do not harp on that you can buy it cheaper in Tesco, Asda, etc, none of us command the discounts they can command, a day of sickness in a big store, that's fine, you take to your bed, a day of sickness for any of us is not getting our products out and not taking any money and as we don't get refunded on pitches, it costs us. So support in any small way you can, believe me, we all really appreciate it.

Anyway, you'll find us in the Iconic and beautiful Ripon Cathedral with a 100 other small businesses, Friday and Saturday this week.
