This beautiful magnolia tree is just coming into bloom. It’s so good to be out in the garden in this wonderful spring weather. I’m looking forward to seeing how the clematis which I planted during the first lockdown, get on. I pruned them for the first time - so fingers crossed.

This is the last rose of summer in my garden. It survived a wet and wild weekend of autumn weather. I’m amazed I’ve got any roses left this late in the year!

It’s back to work today my own little shop in Dumfries.
No more leisurely reading books, filing books, wrapping books, selling and buying books☹️! I did enjoy The ‘Diary of a Bookseller’ by Shaun Bythell and ‘Three things you need to know about rockets’ by Jessica Fox definitely good background reading for a trip to run a bookshop in the beautiful Scottish Booktown of Wigtown!
