🌘 ECLIPSE HACK: 🌒 How to watch safely using your phone! 📱☀️Want to catch the solar eclipse but don’t have eclipse glasses handy? You can actually use your smartphone’s SELFIE MODE as a safe viewer!Here is how to do it without damaging your eyes (or your phone!):
📸 THE SELFIE HACK STEP-BY-STEP:
1️⃣ Turn your back to the sun. (Crucial! Never look directly at the sun while setting this up).
2️⃣ Open your front-facing camera and hold your phone up so the eclipse is framed behind you.
3️⃣ Watch the magic happen live right on your screen!
⚠️ IMPORTANT SAFETY TIPS FOR YOUR PHONE:
While this protects your eyes, prolonged direct sunlight can actually damage your phone's camera sensor.
Keep it safe with these rules:
• Keep clips short! Only use selfie mode for quick glances, fast photos, or short videos.
Don't leave the camera pointed at the sun for a long time.
• Adjust your exposure. Tap the sun on your screen and slide the exposure bar down. This cuts the glare so you can see the perfect crescent shape of the sun!
🛠️ FOR LONG-TERM RECORDING:
If you want to live-stream or record the whole thing, you’ll need a real filter. You can tape a spare solar film sheet or a cut-out lens from certified eclipse glasses securely over your camera lens to protect the sensor!
