Fish with jobs? 🤔
Our new import arrived Tuesday, and these beauties should be available from tomorrow! 👀
We’ve picked out three of the most requested species that can not only look fantastic in your aquarium, but can also lend a helping fin with some common aquarium problems! ♥️
Otocinclus
These tiny suckermouth catfish only grow to around 5cm and love grazing on softer algae such as soft green algae and brown diatoms. They generally avoid tougher algae like black beard and green spot algae.
Best kept in a group and only introduced to a well-established aquarium.
Dwarf Chain Loaches
A fantastic little snail-eating species that reaches around 6cm, making them a much smaller alternative to larger loaches such as Clown Loaches.
They love plenty of cover and, like the others on this list, should be kept in a group.
❌🐌 Snails beware!
Siamese Algae Eaters
Fast-moving, slender and excellent algae grazers! When young, they’ll happily feed on a wide range of algae, including hair algae and black beard algae.
They can grow to around 15cm, so they’re better suited to medium to larger aquariums and should be kept in a group.
Of course, we always recommend finding out why you’re experiencing excess algae or snail problems in the first place. 🧐🌱
But if you love the look of these species, have the right setup and can provide them with a suitable forever home, then why not have a fish that helps you out along the way? 🐟
Available from tomorrow — while stocks last!
