We had an attempted break in last night 6th-7th May. Fortunately they didnt gain access. Please be vigilant in the area in case a team is targeting this part of Suffolk again.

We too are shocked by the speed of the erosion on the beach since the New Year and our thoughts are with the people who are losing their homes as a result of it. 😔 Thorpeness has always a special, happy place and it is so sad to see the beach changing so rapidly.

Road from Aldringham may be closed , but diversions signs are in place and we’re open as usual.

THE ROAD TO THORPENESS FROM ALDEBURGH IS NOT CLOSED - it is a small road in Thorpeness that is shut. Businesses in Thorpeness are operating as usual!!

🌟 WARNING 🌟

Please check your bank notes when being paid in cash.

We recently have been given a fake £20 note and didn't realise.

They feel smoother and the colour is brighter. Things to also check which we noticed when comparing to a real £20 note.

- there is no braille in the top left corner
- no 20's in the window in lower right corner
- the twenty does change to pounds when tilted
- symbol is different.

Bottom note in the picture is the fake.

We were visited yesterday by this lady and her family. She helped herself to an expensive geod crystal which she then tucked into her coat. We have tracked her on our CCTV and she then left the shop without paying for it. If you know who it is we would be interested to speak to her. We are informing the Police and sending them the footage and other photos. Other shops please be vigilant as they may be “visiting” the area!
