One of the highlights of my Jollys adventures has been the terrific team members who have joined me in serving you over the years...

♥Lucy♥ we met some time before Jollys began at a local makers fair - her gentle nature and kindness towards my little girl sowed a seed. So when my business plans became a reality, she was the first person I approached as my 'Girl Thursday'. What a fabulous decision that was ♥ Her warmth and creativity, her love for Jollys and most excellent window display skills are just a few of the wonderful qualities that 'Aunty Jollys' has bless our team with ♥

♥Lisa♥ was a regular after-school customer with her son, and was our first Jollys superfan. We bonded over retro toys and vintage-style wrapping paper her nanna loved ♥ Not far into our first year I needed Saturday help, and she was my go-to ask. Her energy and passion for Jollys, hero-level cleaning skills and her ability to remain unflappable on a busy Saturday made her the perfect addition to our trio. 'Our Lisa' is one in a million ♥

I couldn't have asked for more loyal, hard-working, joyful colleagues to have flown the Jollys flag alongside me all these years. We are friends for life. So you can be sure that we will regularly be seen together giggling over brunch somewhere...excited to all three be 'out-out' on a Saturday daytime just because we can ♥

It's been a whirlwind few days for Team Jollys filled with much emotion including plenty of joy and laughter amidst the sadness.

We have had MANY more visits from you all than we could ever have imagined. 🙏Thank you 🙏We thought that the end of the month might be the time to close the doors for the final time, but there just isn't enough stock left thanks to all of your support.

And so we will close Jollys' little red door to our customers one last time this Friday 9th January at 4pm.

Do come and pick up a bargain or say goodbye if you wish to. Jollys looks very different to how it has done in the past. So we understand completely if you would rather keep it in your minds as the colourful, packed and magical little treasure trove that it was.

Please remember that gift cards are still valid if you have any to use up, as this week is the final time to do so.

After 13 magical years, the time has come to say goodbye to Jollys ♥

What a fabulous time we have had. We have all done so well to keep this little toy shop on this little High Street going for so long - you, our loyal customers, me and my team. It has been an absolute joy, and one of the highlights of my life to have created Jollys and achieved all the good that is has brought to so many. I am so very proud of it.

I'm sad, and I know that many of you will be too. But time moves on, and as the new year dawns it's absolutely the right time for me personally, and for the business to call it a day.

The world is a different place to when Jollys opened in 2013 - the how, why, where and when we all shop has changed so much, and continues to change at pace. The nature of our supply chain is very different to what it was, and rapidly changing in a way that makes it increasingly difficult to maintain what is magical – and sustainable - about Jollys.

I have changed too. My family is all grown up and I'm ready to start a new chapter. I have loved creating, nurturing and growing Jollys and I've poured my heart and soul into it. I have done it for the love of Jollys above anything material that has come from it. Now it’s time for a rest, a change of pace and onward to new adventures 🌟

What we achieved at Jollys has way exceeded anything I could have imagined - a treasured community toy shop that has spread joy to so many people across so many miles over such a long time.

Thank you to every one of you who has been a part of making Jollys special – the 1000s who have shopped with us, supplied and championed us. Special thanks must go to the most supportive landlord a shopkeeper could wish for, and of course to my treasured team mates, Lisa and Lucy ♥♥

The shop reopens tomorrow, Friday 2nd Jan, and there is a fab 25% off everything (except Tonies = 10% off). A brilliant way to spend your Christmas money and gift cards, and stock up for the months ahead!

Jollys is back open 9am to 4pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays - these hours will extend as we settle back into ‘normality’. We have strict social distancing measures in place and allow one customer or small family in at once. Jollys opened in May 2013 in our quirky, characterful shop in Thrapston, Northamptonshire. It’s packed full of inspiring toys, games, fun activities and gifts for newborns to teens. We source lots of unusual goodies which you’ll rarely find in the big shops, and we’re constantly changing our ranges so that there’s always something new to find. We stock sensibly priced products, most of which are under £25, and there’s always plenty to choose from under £10.

Whether you shop with us in store or online, we strive to go the extra mile to find you the ideal gift for every child on your list. We offer a wrapping service and also sell really lovely birthday and new baby cards, an if you’re not sure what to get, a Jollys Gift Card is a fabulous way to bring happiness to someone special.
