A weekend being inspired at Knepp - Friday in their reimagined walled garden. Tonnes of crushed aggregate to change the topography and filled with resilient perennials that benefit the largest number of insects. An incredible approach to a traditional growing space.
Saturday on their dusk safari seeing white storks looking majestic on the limbs of a dead tree, glimpsing beavers and seeing the evidence of their work!!

Winter project paying off

Early this year we tackled lots of overgrown shrubs to install a new border full of cutting material. ➡️ Swipe to see before. Pic 3 shows Cheye proud of her choices and pic 4 shows me questioning mine.

Some annuals taking centre stage whilst the perennials bulk up. The borage has gone crazy but the pollinators are loving it.

Border includes nepeta, verbascum, verbena, sanguisorba, phlox, campanula, achillea, peonies & roses. The ribes has been given a regenerative prune (🤞). Annuals include dill, explosion grass, larkspur & borage.

All in the detail!

Often our buttonholes are photographed at the last second as we try and keep them in water as long as possible but they’re such an important detail! Ours are filled with the sweetest miniatures from rosemary for remembrance to wild strawberry flowers.

Pic 1 shows a buttonhole tailored for a hayfever sufferer! We used flowers least likely to induce sneezes
- flowers still in bud or those already gone to seed and it seemed to do the trick!
