The Newmarket Rug bag is beginning to take shape! Patterns are now made, but being constantly tweaked! Here is a little insight into the processes that go into making a bag like this.
When I make a bag using recycled materials, I don't don't just cut up the donor leather/tack/rug, and sew or rivet it into a generic simple bag. I use the same traditional saddlery tools/skills and techniques that were used to make them at the start of their life, to breathe new life into a beautifully constructed bespoke heirloom piece.
