Some jam jar posies, buckets and bouquets this week. Any gardening or cutting has been done late in the evening when it’s been marginally cooler. I like that time though, when the sun is setting and the birds are heading to bed. I’ve seen a barn owl three times, but never quick enough to get a photo!
The flowers look like they usually do in August. A lot of things have come and gone. Some won’t make it at all in this heat. I’m willing the dahlias to survive and produce some beautiful blooms.

It’s been a bit of a slow start to the season as I broke my wrist on holiday in March. 😫 I’ve had some issues with it, but hoping to get it stronger now.

March to June is usually a really busy time; sowing seeds, potting on, weeding, preparing beds to plant out. A lot of this hasn’t happened and it has been a bit tricky!

The established perennials and the biennials are blooming and saving the day, (some a bit too quickly in the heat - the peonies have sadly come and gone already).

But there will be more beautiful flowers to come.

Now that the frosts are past and we’ve had some much, much needed rain I can hopefully get the dahlias in the ground.

I grow my flowers with lots of love and without any pesticides or chemicals.

Please let me know if I can help to flower your world and make it bloom a little brighter. 🌸🌺🌼💐

(Oh, and I have a new baby robin, aka Bobbin, that I’m feeding 🤗. He/she brings me huge joy. )
