At our Shekinah Charity Shop at 118 Union Street in the town centre of Torquay, we raise money to help Devon's homeless and help them to rebuild their lives and futures.
We are very proud to announce that a brand new range of jewellery and linocut pet prints by conceptual artist, sculptor and jewellery designer Ben Falconer of Torbay Pirate Art & Jewellery is now available in our shop.
Ben's range of necklaces and earrings are made from broken to***co pipe stems that he found as a registered mudlarker on the River Thames foreshore. These pipe stems are dated between 1558, when to***co first was brought to England from the colonies in Virginia, up to the early 1900's when clay pipe production stopped.
In essence these necklaces are survivors of hundreds of years of powerful tides and erosion, each and every single one is not just a piece of jewellery but a unique fragment of history.
The necklaces are for sale in the shop for £40.
The earrings are £25 and a necklace and earrings set would be £55.
A few other London mudlarkers are selling their jewellery online but our prices are much cheaper than they sell their collection for. Ben's range is at least £20 cheaper than other ranges online!
The quirky limited edition signed and numbered linocut pet prints are only £25.
The jewellery is uni-sex and would make a really unusual and memorable gift for a loved one whilst also helping to raise money for our charity that does so much to help people in our society in the most urgent need of our help.
We would be pleased to send these items to you in the post and cover postage and package costs if it is easier for you to shop with us this way.
The jewellery is very tactile and each one is unique as the colours are all slightly different.
In the current climate, where recycled is best, these jewellery items really do make the perfect present for a loved one!
