Tuesdays blast from the past.
The first of Curtis Buchanan’s chairs that was built so long ago now.
Lessons learned have carried me throughout my chair maker odyssey.
Lessons such as proportions, rake and splay, the ability to get tiny bits of wood to flex and add tremendous strength.

A friend’s 7 yr old granddaughter overheard me talking about my wood library.
She asked” how much wood did I have in my wood library?”
I told her and there on she became fascinated with the idea.
After a week or so the request came for a small piece of different woods from the collection.
So here are her first wood library cards.
To be added to as I get around to working with different species.
It’s a grand thing to encourage the young.
