The Orchard Carving Studio has just a few spaces left on this weekend's very special Medieval Illumination course with specialist Sarah Davis.

Over this immersive two-day workshop, you'll learn traditional medieval techniques to create and illuminate your own medieval angel. Discover the fascinating materials, methods and craftsmanship behind these exquisite miniature artworks, and gain a unique insight into how medieval illuminators achieved their stunning results.

No previous experience is needed – Sarah will guide you through every step of the process, making this a wonderful introduction to the art of medieval illumination.

Our monthly community carving event and sharpening service is back this Saturday the 1st August at The Cider Press Centre alongside the amazing Dart Market. If you fancy giving woodcarving a try then now's your chance. We'll be open 11am - 3pm for anyone to come and have a go.

Steve from Mac the Knife will be sharpening throughout the day too - kitchen knives, garden sheers, carpentry chisels... you name it he can do it! Steve is local, so can leave your tools with him and collect them at a future date.

🎨 Crafternoon – Creative Fun for Ages 7–107! 🧵☀️

Join us on Saturday 1st August, 12–2.30pm at Go Deer Workshop, Dartington Cider Press (TQ9 6TQ) for a fun-filled afternoon of making, creating, and learning new skills!

We’ll be exploring three brilliant craft activities:

☀️ Cyanotype Printing – create beautiful blue-and-white sun prints inspired by nature
🧶 Woolly Art Bowls – make a colourful, unique bowl using wool and creativity
🪡 Simple Sewing Machine Project – have a go at sewing and make something to take home

Perfect for ages 7–107 — whether you’re a young maker, a crafting enthusiast, or just fancy trying something new!
