I’ve been selling cards on and off for 45 years! In that time the way we send cards and letters has totally changed!

However, in our digital age there is still nothing better than a beautifully designed thoughtful card to help you find the right words 😊 - If a friend or family member is going through a hard time, to tell someone how much they mean to you, or simply to celebrate friendship - Nice Things by Helena has a card to help you!

As well as being simply marvellous, they are a small independent UK company. All the other card suppliers I am lucky enough to work with are too!

I had a little delivery of some lovely vintage Ladybird books. More exciting than usual, as the delivery included ‘In A Big Store’, a title I have been looking for to add to my own personal collection!

Despite having sold hundreds of Ladybird books over the last 9 years, I had never seen this rare title before. It’s a fascinating reflection of the time when it was first published (1973). Some wonderful illustrations of the fashions of the day, and lots of gender stereotypes regarding the job roles! I was a teenager in 1973 and life was certainly much simpler then, even if not everything was perfect!

Wonderful Whitesands Bay and St Davids, with seven days of lovely sunshine and gentle warmth. Also the best fish and chips, and of course ice cream from The Bench Ice Cream Parlour xx

More cards! Whilst I’m sweltering in the heat I’m busy pricing up another lovely delivery of cards from Jude Smith ~ I always try to buy my cards from British based designers who create their own original designs, and Design Smith is one of my favourites! They are always coming up with new designs and the quality of the cards is superb 😊
