A big thank you to Northamptonshire based woodturner Ravi Zutshi, for delivering some new bowls to add to his collection here in the gallery yesterday. I love the way each artist and maker takes the raw material and creates some thing beautiful in their own distinctive style, and the pieces we have from Ravi are certainly that.
Ravi uses a mixture of the natural wood and to some pieces, adds paint, resin or stain to create the finished design. The beauty of the natural wood always shines through though.
Call in and see the pieces we have next time you visit the Old Dairy Farm Craft Centre.

Bounty is a little confused with the weather today here at the Old Dairy Farm Craft Centre. First thing this morning she started her day with a little sunbathing, this afternoon she found herself sheltering from a thunderstorm with hail. Flaming June indeed.
Let's hope the sunny weather returns by the weekend as promised. If not, there will be one very grumpy elderly cat hogging the doormat.

Twenty four years ago today the doors of the Hayrack Gallery opened for the first time here at the Old Dairy Farm Craft Centre, and it only seems like five minutes ago.
Our original gallery was just across the lawn from where we are now, we had two years there before moving to our present site in 2004.
We would like to say a big thank you to all of the customers who have supported the gallery during good times and bad, all of the artists and makers who have supplied their work to sell, the girls from Anna & Louis Vintage who helped to give the gallery a new direction in the last few years, Helen Brodie for giving us the opportunity to open in the first place and everyone who has been part of the Old Dairy Farm while we have been here. Without all of you we would not have been able to be here for all this time.
We are looking forward to our 25th birthday next year, we hope you will come and see again very soon.
