Watch me take on the spectacular as I attempt to card a clean 66 now on my YouTube channel.

Opened for play in 1898 Western Gailes is one of few courses that could boast its own private railway station. The last train left that stop in 1966 but the course’s legacy has endured. In the years since its inception it has played host to some of the games most prestigious amateur events including the 2007 European Amateur Team Championships where an 18 year old Rory McIlroy helped Ireland to victory.

Last year I attempted to break par in every major era of golf, from the modern day back to the 1920s.

Almost 12 months on from that monster challenge we’ve put together my final round with a full hickory set, which included probably the best shot I’ve hit in my life.
