A huge thank you and appreciation post for James! ❤️

After a year and a half at Techmend, the time has come to say goodbye to my First staff member! We are back to a 1 man band!

James has been a massive help to me and to the business during his time here. Running a tech repair shop isn’t easy, especially when you’re doing it alone, and James stepped up and took on a huge amount of responsibility.

Most importantly, when my son was born, James kept the shop running while I was away spending those precious early days with my family. I’ll always be incredibly grateful for that. Knowing the shop was in safe hands made such a stressful and important time in my life that little bit easier.

Thank you, James, for all your hard work, reliability and everything you’ve done for Techmend over the last year and a half. You’ve been a valued part of the journey and you’ll definitely be missed.

I genuinely wish you nothing but the very best for whatever comes next. I’m sure you’ll do brilliantly in the future! 👏

Hi guys! Just a little reintroduction for anyone who may not know me, and a reminder of who’s behind Techmend. ❤️

My name is Ty, and I started Techmend around 8 years ago with a pretty simple goal: to build something of my own that I could be proud of, provide for my family, and hopefully give something back to the community along the way.

Back then, I had one beautiful child. I’m now blessed with two, and Techmend has become a huge part of my life and how I provide for them.

I’ve always had a busy mind and a lot of energy, so I wanted to channel that into something productive, something where I could help people, solve problems and build a business based on doing things the right way.

From day one, my approach has always been honesty, transparency and doing a proper job. I’d rather tell someone they don’t need a repair than charge them for something they don’t need. I’ve always believed that if you look after people and treat them fairly, the reputation will take care of itself.

And thankfully, over the years, you guys have given me an amazing reputation and allowed this little local business to grow. ❤️

We’ve also tried to give something back where we can, including our Christmas charity giveaways, helping vulnerable families in our local area.

I know there are more options around town now, and that’s completely understandable, but if you’ve used Techmend before, recommended me to a friend, left a review, shared a post or simply trusted me with your tech, I genuinely appreciate it more than you probably realise.

I’m not a big chain. I’m just a local lad, running a small business that is my livelihood and helps me put food on the table and give my kids what they need.

So if you’re ever in need of a repair, advice, or even just someone to tell you honestly whether something is worth fixing, I’d really appreciate you keeping Techmend in mind.

It’s nearly Christmas 👀🎄

Together for the last 8 years we have done something Incredible … I wanna do it again!

For some families, Christmas morning means presents under the tree, excited children and a table full of food.

But for others, it can mean something very different — children who may wake up to nothing, and families who may not even be able to afford a Christmas dinner. Also it can be people totally isolated.

That’s why, every year, for the last 8 years, we have done our Christmas Device & Food Voucher Giveaway. 🎁📱🍽️

We raise money and collect devices so that vulnerable families can experience a little of the magic that every child deserves. We also make donations to vulnerable adults who have been through an incredibly difficult time and could simply use a reminder that someone cares. ❤️

If you have an iPhone or iPad from the last 5–6 years sitting unused in a drawer, please consider donating it.

Any condition is welcome (as long as there is NO water damage).
I’ll repair the devices completely free of charge wherever possible, get them ready, and then match them with families who genuinely need them.

A phone or tablet that’s gathering dust in your home could become a child’s Christmas present. 🎄❤️

And a small donation from you could help put a Christmas lunch on a family’s table.

You might never know exactly what your kindness means to the person receiving it — but I can promise you, it means more than you think.

This isn’t about giving people “stuff”.

It’s about giving a child something to wake up excited about.
