Our decaf coffees regularly steal the spotlight among our bestsellers—and that’s no accident.
Many decaffs on the market almost taste like an afterthought but we use specialty green beans from Sol Y Café in Peru because choosing decaf should not mean settling for disappointing flavour and quality.
As you would expect from a certified organic coffee range, we chose the chemical free Swiss Water Process as our decaffeination method and we've been using it for over 20 years. It uses Green Coffee Extract (water with soluble coffee compounds) to draw out the caffeine molecules while the flavour and other compounds remain within the coffee. So no nasty chemicals, just pure natural decaffeination. Enjoy!

Today is World Fair Trade Day 🌍☕
This year’s theme from the World Fair Trade Organization is “Together we are the Business Revolution!” celebrating the power of Fair Trade to create lasting change for people, communities, and our planet.

At Equal Exchange, that belief has been at the heart of our coffee for decades. Producer group Unicafec in Peru has been a core part of our organic coffee range for more than 15 years. What began as a single Grown by Women coffee has grown into a women farmer-focused range, and today Unicafec features across all of our Equal Exchange coffee blends.
By supporting co-operative groups like Unicafec, every cup helps strengthen fairer trading relationships, community resilience, and sustainable livelihoods.

Celebrating four decades of changing trade! Today, May Day, is International Workers’ Day, a day to honour and strengthen the ongoing struggle for labour justice and dignity for workers around the world. It’s no coincidence that Equal Exchange was founded on this very day in 1986, rooted in the belief that farmers and workers deserve fairness, dignity, and a real voice in the systems they power.

As we celebrate 40 years, we recognize that this work has always been collective - it would not exist without you. Thank you for being part of our journey.

- A little piece of Sri Lanka just arrived 🌿✨
With everything going on globally, moving goods from Sri Lanka to the UK hasn’t been the easiest lately so this arrival felt extra rewarding. Our warehouseman Dan was especially thrilled to receive it. Sri Lanka is a key producer of tea that we use here at our Sunderland factory to make Equal Exchange's organic tea bags, available to buy currently in the US only.
