Happy Shakespeare Day … feast your eyes on these beautiful Folio editions from the 1950s and 60s 🥰 Shall I compare them to a summer’s day? Definitely 🙂

It is quite alarming realising your childhood toys are now hitting the 'vintage' tag!!! The very cuddled elephant pictured is 'Wam'. Wam went with me everywhere; the gnawed truck is a result of my teething. I do not remember life without Wam. He travelled my early years with me - never far from my side - the occasional misplacement causing stressful ripple effects through the family!

Before I could read (and if truthful after I could), I loved asking my mother to read me 'The Juniper Tree' by the brothers Grimm. I think my mother was somewhat perturbed by the relish her dear, sweet (!) daughter showed for the brutal decapitation of the little boy at the hands of his wicked step - mother and the subsequent enjoyment by the boy's father of the sausages, a gruesome by - product of the murder most foul.

Sharing books with people you love must be on the top ten of joyous things to do. The added beauty is the joy is one that can be shared over and over again.
