The Book Haven's October offering is spoooooky. Have you watched Netflix's The Silence? If so, you'll need no encouragement to come and meet its author, best-selling horror, fantasy and dystopian writer Tim Lebbon at 7pm on Thursday October 31 at The The Retreat Llanover. As usual, food and drinks are on sale and of course a chance to buy books. See you there.

Hoping to see lots of you at The Retreat, Llanover, tomorrow evening (Thursday) at 7pm for our Poems and Pints evening. Just to confuse confusion, the only pints will be of w**e (if you can manage it!) and you don't have to bring a poem!! Just come along and enjoy the choices and writings of others.

If you get a chance, please vote for local author Matt Johnson in the prestigious Capital Crime Fingerprint Awards 2024. To be nominated is great in itself but it will be so much better if Matt can bring this award home to our area. If you haven't read No Ordinary Day, you're in for quite a journey. It tells the true story of the murder of PC Yvonne Murray in the Libyan Embassy siege for which no one has yet been brought to justice. The truth behind it is mind-boggling. It's listed in the True Crime section of the awards here

The books with the most votes in each category will win, and will be announced on Thursday 30th May live at Capital Crime!
