They are worked with in pairs - male and female - with one being smoother (female) and the other having the pyrite cubes visible (male). Named after a 20th Century French traveller (so correct typing should be 'Planchéite'), this stunning blue crystal is another copper secondary. It forms near Malachite, Dioptase and Chrysocolla and is a close cousin to Shattuckite.
