In preparation for our forthcoming day painting in the landscape, our delving group with spent a morning looking at leaves, finding the right tone of green, even painting on the leaves to check we got it right! Amazingly everyone made an incredible start on a landscape painting of their choice. As with so many things in life the warm up really pays off!

Getting there - the staircase is going in (hooray - no more ladders) - a lot of the scaffolding has come down and the house emerges. Lots of trades on site, the kitchen cabinets are in, other joinery is coming along and we are about five weeks or so out!

You may not know that the fabulous all started on a lampshade painting course at Curious House. was one of our first tutors and her reputation is now international! Our next course with Jane is on 24th June - I had a chat with one of our past guests - the beauty of making the journey is that you can stay , soak up this unique hostelry and join us refreshed in our classroom following a slap up breakfast. Not our usual hang out and not great timing with the house build in the final furlong - but when the opportunity arises to sail with your youngest daughter (ie not Elspeth) to take a beautiful yacht from St Lucia to Grenada after said daughter has sailed just about all the way around the world - well what’s a mother to do?!
