Around this time 3 years ago a small team of us started thinking about, and subsequently, organising the first ever South Wakefield Villages Community Market - which we successfully launched in September 2023.
Throughout the journey we have made so many friends, whether they be regular visitors/supporters, fellow organisers, venue providers, good causes we have supported or our wonderful stall holders, who all appreciate what we do, how we do it and, most importantly to us, why we do it.
Three of those stall holders who had faith in us from very early on and continue to support us, are very dear to our hearts, and we want to take an opportunity to thank them, as friends, for everything they bring to the table (all 6 foot long and 2 1/2 foot wide of it) that doesn't always get seen at the Market events.
Handtied by Naomi stood out front at our first ever Market - greeting everyone with her charming smile and endearing warmth, she loves to share her stories of how much she enjoys being a part of what we do, and we embrace her being a part of it. She never fails to bring along a great display of her arrangements and different ideas for presentations along with her open order books for whatever occasion you might be planning.
Homefire Preserves took a giant leap of faith at our second market, by entrusting us to accommodate them on their very first foray into Artisan and Craft Markets. They always fetch a fantastic selection of tantalising flavours, whilst also breathing in the same aura we want to present of friendliness, fun and enjoyment. Their ethos of using homegrown ingredients and promoting recycling just adds an even greater layer to what Toni & Harry are about.
Communarty with their philosophy of 'A Blind Date With a Book' had us hooked from the first time we saw them on Facebook and we couldn't wait for them to join us - simply for the idea. Once we met Rachel and got to know her and the causes she supports through both her book endeavours and her personal/professional life, the friendship flourished, greatly enhanced by her insatiable laughter and love of life.
Please take some time to check out their pages and then pop along on Sunday to see them, and all the other fabulous stalls, all in support of local good causes at 15th Wakefield (Sandal Magna) Scout Group between 10:00 and 15:00 - FREE ENTTRY & DOGS ALLOWED.
Thanks in anticipation of sharing far & wide...
