For sale
Ideal suzannah NM
17.5" seat
New head plate, total reflock and panels lined a few years ago and fully safety checked (As part of my saddlery training and checked by one of the best in the business). Previous owner brought from new through their saddlery business.

Suits TB or event types really well due to drop panel with well sized rear gussets. Head shape allows for well sized wither too.

Fabulous saddle dubbed the rally seat as the deep seat and stonking knee blocks give you amazing security even when sitting on a rodeoing thoroughbred or something that thinks it's valegro!

£700 ONO
Collection Goring on thames or post at buyers cost. Can come out to fit at your expense up to 1 hour away from Goring.

A little name change needed! So I have been out with a few different saddlers gaining vital experience and training for my saddle fit qualifications.

So holler if you're in need of a fit check or on the hunt for a new or used saddle! I only have a couple of spaces left this month otherwise I am booking into August now 😊

Well we're nearly half way through January already, how did that even happen?!

To all of my lovely clients who haven't spoken to me over the festive period or aren't on my personal page I've been resting up post spinal op (last photo showing an xray of the cage implanted between L5 and S1 to fuse my spine as the disc was completely trashed!)

So these are a few of the pieces I've been working on slowly since I've been able to sit and work for an hour or so at a time 😊

The startings of dying a bridle to fit with a new saddle (much less hassle than selling at a loss then trying to buy the same again if the design hasn't already changed!) So far I have deep cleaned with isopropyl alcohol to remove every tiny bit of dirt, grease *wasn't much of either of these mind!*, any soap or balm and any coating that may be on top of the leather ready for the next step... dying to the new colour! Currently the cheekpieces, browband and throatlash have had 1 coating and are drying. I've done lots of research into methods, products and then testing to see which products worked the best to give the deepest colour. Excited to see the progress on this one!

This week was my last course at The Saddlery Training Centre, I have enjoyed every single minute of the hours spent in Salisbury (maybe not so such the giant mistakes but they have taught me very valuable lessons!). I was supposed to just pop the holes into my double bridle and then straight onto the Atherstone girth assessment piece, unfortunately I made one of those less enjoyable moments and had to remake all of my cheekpieces, laced and curb reins 🙈 However the second laced reins turned out beyond beautiful 😍 Managed to complete most of it by Thursday morning and made a practice girth after we had done the written papers. Friday I gave the 3 hour timed girth and managed it pretty much bang on time.

Friday afternoon my 2 bridles and girth were assessed and I am very pleased to announce I have passed my level 3 Bridle! 🥳

Now catching up on work and sleep 😴

Some of the pieces in the last 2 weeks work! Gorgeous browbands for matching ponies complete with stock pin so that even the rider matches. Girth strap shortening. Leather hound harness that needed a few stitches to stop one of the straps from wiggling. Curb straps for a noseband and 5 point martingale. Then the harness repair which was somewhat taxing on my hands!

Week 3 of my saddlery training at The Saddlery Training Centre in Salisbury this week.

Finished my level 3 inhand stallion bridle after remaking the cheekpieces which everyone on my course was having issues with! Then started my Show double bridle, I had cut the straps before I went (my recent deconstructed double bridle post!) And here is what it looks like 3 days of work later. Everything cut, edged, stained, polished, prick marked, crew punched and ready to tack together 😁 We spent yesterday making the most fiddley part of the whole bridle, the teeny tiny rolled lip strap 🥴 Super pleased with how it came out, just finishing blocking the keepers at the moment and a final polish to he done 😊

Now to start making a million keepers so I can get everything ready to stitch 🤩

Busy busy here!

So as well as saddle and bridle repairs, bespoke browbands and new items... I've been working hard to get my level 3 inhand stallion bridle finished for my next saddlery course. Just need to burnish, restain and polish all the edges, recrease all the parts, block all the keepers and hole punch the headpiece, noseband and cheek buckles!

Next piece for my level 3 bridle is the show double bridle with raised noseband and browband, laced reins and rolled lip strap with 12 stitches per inch 🧐 all straps cut out this evening and labelled 🥳
