Can someone please tell me where these barns are...? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

Can't wait to get cracking on this one! 😁❀️

Today on the bench we have a Fender Pro 185 from the 80's in for a repair to the channel switching.

Sadly the owner deemed the repair uneconomical so this will go back to be sold for spares or repairs. The sensible choice I think bit a shame.

Today on the bench we have a Fender Hotrod Deville in for redplating. Ribbon cable wires had broken at the main PCB (took a while to spot), replaced with separate wires, should last a lot longer now. Unfortunately the same couldn't be said for the toasted Svetlana Winged C's that it came with πŸ˜”

Converted to correctly run on 240v, a new pair of JJ's 6L6's fitted and biased.

Today on the bench we have a Marshall 7400 DBS bass amp. Mostly caked in dust, and needed pots cleaning. Fans in amps suck in dust unfortunately, seen this a lot.

All seems good inside, no signs of flame or burnt out components or anything untoward. Valves all look good, correct voltages throughout and all major components test good.

Bias was a bit hot, but that's down to a more sedate 32mA now, guess I'll leave it on for an hour and see what happens.

Today on the bench we have a Marshall JCM2000 DSL in for a new jack socket and service...sadly once the back was removed I noticed the cloudy getter, and the vacuum is clearly gone. The remaining EL34's look a bit burnt up too.

Fingers crossed the bias circuit is ok🀞🀞🀞

Today on the bench we have a Peavey Renown 400 in for a service. Usual age related issues crackling pots and jack sockets for the most part. Whole amp will be checked over and PAT tested before being returned though πŸ‘

These amps are surprisingly good, built like ranks and still going strong with a little maintenance.

Finishing up the day having a look at a 1973 Fender Bassman 100, getting it ready for sale. This baby is mine, and is 100% original...not fired it up in a few years so wanted to check all is well before I list it πŸ‘

Love these amps! 😍

Today on the bench we have a Laney VC30 in for a service.

Looks like someone has been tinkering in here before. Internal reverb socket was barely hanging on by its PCB contacts, and there were transformer cables fixed to the PCB with silicone and bare wire showing.

Not impressed πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

"GT" tubes microphonic, howling reverb. Bad connections to reverb tank, a bit of careful tube swapping and lead dress resolved the noise mostly. Plus heaters running at nearly 7v as it's set for 230v from the factory - it's like 2 wires Fender, why can't you do this for us UK customers? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ Sorted that and heater and HT supply dropped back to reasonable levels.
