• 3.87 million children do not own a single bo

ok
• 4 million children live in poverty

At the Global Educational Trust, we believe that education and literacy skills help individuals lead a happy and successful life, and needless to say, provide the opportunity for people to become leaders, pioneers and visionaries which is ultimately beneficial to us all. We aim to make reading free and available to all by distributing FREE Books into society. As a registered charity we rely on the kindness and generosity of people like you. We have Fantastic News!!!

High Wycombe you have not been forgotten and we have a new home and we are our way back!!!

We are pleased to announce that the Global Educational Trust, also known as GET Free Books is coming back to High Wycombe in the next few weeks and we desperately need your help as we would like to open at 20 Octogen Parade near Eden,Shopping Centre hopefully by the end of August.

The Global Educational Trust is a charity that usually has about 20 Free Bookshops around the UK. We have had shops in Barnet, Wandsworth, Slough and many other towns and cities across the UK. Each one has become a vital resource for anybody who loves to read in the community it is in.

What can a FREE Bookshop do for your community?

At the Global Educational Trust (GET Free Books) We move into an empty shop in your community and bring with us a large mixed selection of preloved books and we ask for volunteers to come and help us.

In the beginning a lot of our shops start out with boxes of books and we ask for Books, Audio books, DVDs, CDs and Jigsaws. We also accept donations of bookcases and furniture to put the books on. When they come in we sort the Books into categories and put them back onto the shop floor for you to browse through.

You can take a limited amount of items home for free per day but if you wish to you can leave a donation in the pot, but you don't have to. Over time as your community donates books they no longer need and the selection will increase as time goes on filling the shop up.

We have found that because books are not recycled and go into landfill because of the glue in their spines we help reduce landfill and the carbon footprint in your area. We prefer recycling books the proper way, in their original format where they can still be enjoyed the way they were meant to be.

Having access to free books can benefit education, literacy and being able to escape into another world within a book can help relieve stress and improve mental wellbeing and all in the comfort within your own home.

How you can help.

We desperately need volunteers and as soon as we are set up and have enough volunteers to open, and we can start with as little as just 2 volunteers, we will be ready to go. The more volunteers we have, the more hours we can open.

If you wish to become a volunteer with us you can volunteer for whatever length of time suits you. You can come in for an hour, half a day or several days during the week.

Our shop in High Wycombe is waiting for you to come and help it become a vital resource in the area and show you what we can do together to help our community.

If you are interested please email [email protected] and put High Wycombe Volunteer in the header. High Wycombe Furniture for furniture and Book donations High Wycombe Books donation.

Thank you so much with helping us with our next part of our adventures within Free Books.

This week is Deafness Awareness Week.

Books are for everyone, whether they are Hardback, Paperback, E Books, Large Print, Somewhere between, Read Along, Audio book or Braille. They inspire us and take us on our adventures where we can do anything!

If you can't see the format of book you are looking for (except E Books) in any of our shops please just ask as you never know what we might have and also pop along and support your local library and ask them as they might be able to get in what you are looking for.
