Today one of our booksellers has chosen three of her favourite books from our natural history section! Here is a little bit about each:

🪲 Extraordinary Insects by Ann Sverdrup-Thygeson is a wonderful journey into the weird and wonderful world of insects where we explore their private lives, what makes them a critical aspect of the mosaic of life on Earth and most importantly how insects could hold the key to future technologies and medicines! How cool is that?! 🪲

🦌 Being a Beast by Charles Foster follows the authors journey as he attempts to live as a badger, fox, otter, deer and a swift to better understand the lives of these iconic British species…and yes that includes eating worms and living in a specially constructed badger sett…😳

🐙 The Soul of an Octopus by Sy Montgomery is a
beautifully written book which follows the author as
they seek to learn more about the octopus. As the
author gets to know four different octopus we get to see what makes these creatures so fantastically
unique, with all four clearly exhibiting different
personalities. This book was an absolute joy to read! 🐙

Not a fan of busy shops and prefer to browse for books without the hustle and bustle of the Christmas crowds? 😅

Pop into our shop not long after we open at 9:30am and after 4pm until close when we’re quietest! We’re much busier at lunchtime and during the early afternoon, so it’s best to visit us on either end of the day for a little more peace and quiet! ☺️

Undoubtedly, The Lyrics is a one of a kind book, from the stunning design to the exploration of Paul McCartney’s life through song, it truly is a very special book and our booksellers can’t get enough of it! It’s perfect for any Beatles fans or any lovers of beautiful books!
