Strange day. End of an Era as I close the doors on Metcalfe's for the last time. Well im in tomorrow finishing packing up.
So much Walton history in this shop and so many locals with a close personal connection.
All the way from the Farrances, Rick Farrance do you want the curtains that were there when your grandparents owned the shop?, John Metcalfe himself Richard Holgate who has given so much support over the last few years and finally me. It's been a journey but it's time to close the till and enjoy life a bit more.
Huge shout out to Rob Tuck , Julie Lawrence and JSH Seabait Supplies , Neil Hutchings , Chris Snow and many more people over the years and thanks for the many many friendships developed over the years.
Way too many people to mention but you know who you are. Those who are way more than just customers.
Hopefully see many of you out and about fishing as the plan is to enjoy life, more fishing, definitely more sailing and more time with my wonderful wife.
A HUGE THANKS TO EVERYBODY WHO TOOK PART IN THIS JOURNEY WITH US ALL AT METCALFE'S OVER THE YEARS.
