Never before in the UK has firearm ownership been under so much threat. This current government wants to merge section 2 shotguns with section 1 fi****ms. I don't need to fill this page with all the massive issues this will cause owners and businesses alike.
Businesses already struggling will fold if this merger takes place.
Owners will start having to justify why they "need" to have the shotguns they already own and maybe forced to give up some of them. PLEASE sign this petition.

Keep section 1 firearm & section 2 shotgun licensing separate. I think this would help to protect law-abiding owners, the shooting industry, & rural communities. Policies should focus on real public safety issues without burdening responsible citizens or damaging heritage & livelihoods.

The game season is in full swing and the casulties just keep on coming in. A couple of tumblers and few main springs will keep me busy for a while.

Forty years ago this month this happy chap started his career with James Purdey and Sons as an apprentice barrel maker. Staying with Purdey for nine years before moving on to Holland & Holland before creating Bozard & Co. nearly 25 years ago.
Philip is now celebrating his fortieth year in gunmaking.
And he's still happy.

Stripping and cleaning a Purdey today. I then discover it was actioned by an old friend. One of things that makes Purdeys special is that each craftsman/craftswoman intials their part of the gun that they created. Whether it be the action, barrels, stock, etc.

The Maple .308 off to proof. Not going to have as many ”bells and whistles” as the .17. That was truly a one off but this will still be a stunning rifle.
