Just sitting on the stone bench outside my backdoor with a glass of chilled white wine after watering the garden. Enjoying the peace and the wine and the smell of freshly watered warm earth. ###

April gatherings transformed into a botanical desert island. It should be a palm tree and a beech but I think I’d rather be marooned on this island. There’s even a bed! Which book would you take and which luxury item would you choose? I think I’d take To Kill A Mocking Bird and my coffee pot with an endless supply of ground coffee.

My gatherings in April. What a beautiful month. The weather was good and everything started to emerge and come to life. The blossom was glorious and I’m sure it was a bumper year for dandelions. Lambs played in the fields, the birds sang and nests were made. The eggshell was dropped right in front of me when I was out walking, it fell from the sky! Might not be a very happy outcome but that’s nature, it can be cruel. The last thing I collected, was given, was Arthur’s

This is the most beautiful nest. It was found by Arthur, he’s 6. He loves nature. He told me all about the nest in great detail. He found it in his garden on the grass. It had been abandoned and blown out of a tree. I think it might be a Goldfinches nest. We talked about what it was made out of. It’s made of moss, lichen, sheep fleece and horse hair that’s been woven through it. It’s as light as a feather and very soft like an expensive jumper. Arthur gave it to me. It’s the best treasure I’ve ever received. He wants me to use it in my artwork. Thank you Arthur, you’re the best.

Here are the things I found in March. Things started emerging and flowering and coming to life. The birds have started nesting and sitting on eggs and singing. I spotted the deer more frequently. The weather has been mixed, mainly wet but the odd sunny day makes it all better. It feels full of promise.
1. The flatlay, feel free to zoom in.
2. The imprint of a deers hoof
3. A dried scarlet elf cup and a blue eggshell
