The recent launch of TAG Heuer's Connected E5 smartwatch set me thinking about smartwatches in general. I have to confess that I never though they would catch on, but I have become a convert. I'm not an Apple fan, so I wouldn't even have considered giving them money for any of their products, let alone a watch.
I did invest in TAG Heuer's first smartwatch, the Connected 46, which sat in its box for a couple of years until I decided to give it a try. Since then it's become my go-to daily watch, primarily because I find receiving notifications from various apps very handy at work.
I've tried TH's later Connected offerings, but I always end up coming back to the original. Sure, it's outdated now; it has no sensors to measure pulse rate and so forth, and battery life isn't great, but the big plus for me is that it's very light, despite its relatively large face. I tried an E4 Titanium, but even that felt too heavy after the 46.
I guess I'll just keep wearing the old timer until it stops working. What then, who knows? One thing I am sure of though, its replacement won't come from Apple!
