Alan Wright is an artist, goldsmith, designer and maker of jewellery with over 40 years’ experience. He works with gold, palladium, silver, bronze, titanium and ebony creating jewellery, sculptures and pictures inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement, mathematics and the Japanese aesthetic.

“An ebony boat with a cormorant figurehead lay rotting on the sea bed until the bow section broke free and rose to the surface. After sitting on a post and drying in the sun the planks transformed into wings and the cormorant was free.”

John and Rob at the Art of Glass are masters in stained and leaded glass, and cover stained glass design, manufacture, installation and restoration.

At their studio you can see windows being made and a large selection of stained glass panels, doors and screens on display.

Stained glass courses are available; these are quite intimate with 1-2 students, all details on request.

Something new is coming at John Garland-Taylor - Handmade British Jewellery

You Asked, So We Made It… ✨ John designed this one… and then we put it out on socials to see what you thought. One customer had been waiting for a special piece of jewellery for a big birthday, spotted this design and actually drove some distance to come and get it.

Only one problem… we hadn’t made it yet! So, we got to work and made some! We’ve made a few of these ready for the launch and there’s a little surprise too…

John’s created a matching piece to go with this new design. So next week, it’s not one new piece… It’s TWO. ✨

There’ll only be a limited number available when we launch, but don’t worry we’ll be making some more later this year.

So, if you’ve had your eye on this one, be ready next Thursday.
