Friday night trying the newly reopened for the first time. A lovely cosy but bustling atmosphere, friendly staff and a tasty food means we will definitely return. Starters were a fresh prawn cocktail and a lovely rich onion and parmesan soup. Mains were shepherds pie and cod with bisque and mussels. Both great value. Steaks also looked very good as did the onion rings coming out of the kitchen. Overall a strong 8.5 out of 10 ❤️

First trip to Flat Iron Newcastle and it won’t be the last. The truffle mac n cheese and garlic mash was divine and the free brown butter vanilla ice cream on the way out one of the nicest I’ve had!

Can’t tell you how impressed we have been with William this week. Some excellent golf to make the final four in the St Andrews boys open semi final. Although he didn’t get to lift the trophy, he got to play the Old Course, hitting over the hotel for a par on 17 and then the iconic walk up 18. We are most proud of his steady attitude and manners on the course. An amazing week and some memories that will last a very long time x

A year ago we became puppy raisers for guidedogs and our gorgeous puppy Hetta arrived! She stayed with us for 6 months and we had the pleasure of introducing her to the world, including shops, lifts, pubs, cafes and the beach! As she got bigger she became a bit much for our old dog Ted so she moved onto a new home for the second half of her puppy training. She has now just been moved to the national guide dog breeding centre where she will hopefully be an amazing mum to do many guide dog puppies due to her amazing temperament.
