First conceived in the 1940s as a specialist adaptation of our iconic Original 1227 Desk Lamp, the Original 315 was designed to illuminate navigators' chart tables aboard long range maritime patrol aircraft. Created as a precision tool, it helped guide journeys through the dark.

Today, we've faithfully re-engineered that archive design for contemporary life. With its polished aluminium shade, matte black components and signature Anglepoise spring mechanism, it brings the same clarity, balance and purposeful direction to the desk, studio and workspace.

Our Repair & Rewire Service is about keeping good design in use for longer. Lauz carefully restores each lamp by hand, repairing what can be repaired and replacing only what is needed, so it can return to doing what it was designed to do.
