It’s been a while! I was commissioned to paint this beautiful doggo recently as a Christmas gift, and was very glad of the nudge to start painting again.

The painting is mixed media - a combination of watercolour, acrylic and a bit of Posca to get the depth of the darker shades. I worked from a few different reference photos, the field was painted from imagination.

In October this year I finally completed the largest painting I've done so far - a 4-metre mural for Cricklewood Library. Here is how it turned out 😊 For those local to NW London, go down to the library which has just recently re-opened and check it out in the flesh! It's not the easiest dimensions to share on social media, and there are so many details to discover 📖 📚 💚

I hope that future generations will be able to watch sea turtles swimming gracefully through our oceans, not just in their minds when they look up at the stars.

Of the seven remaining sea turtle species, 6 are listed as endangered, critically endangered or vulnerable (there is insufficient data on the 7th).

This is the fourth painting of my 'nearly fantasy' series, created to raise awareness of the human-triggered sixth mass extinction event. We can change, before it’s too late 💚

I used various watercolour techniques here: wet-on-wet, wet-on-dry, salt sprinkles and paint splats. Watercolours are fun to experiment with 😊
