Thank You from Wedmore by Lamplight

One week on and we are still buzzing after an incredible Lamplight 2025!

Wedmore by Lamplight wouldn’t happen without our amazing community ❤️
�Thank you to every volunteer, marshal, performer, local business, community group, stall holder, lantern carrier, sponsor and supporter. We appreciate all of your time, energy and generosity.�
Special mentions go to:
🎄 Bridgwater Carnival for enabling the road closure
🎄Wedmore Parish Council for support with all things compliance
🎄St Mary’s Church for a beautiful crib service and plenty of logistical support
🎄 The Men’s Shed for bringing a small army of table-carriers and gazebo-wranglers
🎄 Local businesses and residents who lent parking spaces and electricity to our stalls and food outlets
🎄 Jo S and the PTA for helping the children build and decorate over 50 lanterns
🎅🏻 Santa and his elves, who brought such magic for the children and adults alike

And most importantly, we thank you, our community, for coming along and celebrating together, for supporting our local shops and businesses and for creating the most festive atmosphere.

A first look at what to expect from our village pubs and businesses 🎄☃️🎅🏻❄️🍻🥂🍷🍔🌭

There is so much to tempt you in The Borough and Borough Mall tonight, including a bar hosted by The New Inn, Hog Roast courtesy of Hector’s Farm Shop and burgers from St Mary’s Church, along with many of our beloved shops and businesses open for late night shopping and dining.

You will be delighted to see our local groups and organisations at their fundraising stalls, offering treats, games and handmade items 🎉

To keep you entertained there is a programme of live music, DJ, morris dancing and children’s entertainment and games ❄️

And to satisfy your shopping needs, there are a multitude of stalls showcasing locally made produce and crafts🎄

🌟 Calling all Wedmore residents! 🌟
Wedmore by Lamplight is just around the corner, and we’re hoping our amazing community can help make this year’s event run smoothly.

We’re looking for a few local residents who live within a five-minute walk of the village centre and would be willing to offer the use of their parking space for the evening. We have some wonderful musicians and performers coming to entertain us and would love to give them a warm welcome with a designated place to park. This will help them to unload their equipment and prepare for the evening without the pressure of finding a parking spot.

Ho ho ho, lovely friends! 🎅💫
We’re looking for a few festive helpers to join us on the Tombola or kids games at Wedmore By Lamplight next week.

If you can spare an hour to help spread some Christmas cheer, chat with visitors, and keep the magic going, we’d be very grateful! 🎁🌟

No experience needed — just bring your smile, your holiday spirit, and maybe your best “jingle”! 🔔😊

Spotlight on the Crib Service and Lantern Parade…..

Wednesday 10th December

Our evening starts at 5.15pm in St Mary’s Church with the much-loved Crib Service, featuring local children and school choirs. 🎶

Afterwards, we’ll gather around the Christmas tree for carols before setting off on our lantern-lit procession, via The George, to The Borough, where we will be met by local businesses, community groups, craft stalls, food outlets and entertainment ✨
