I specialise in crafting custom-made drums using the stave construction method: unique creations priced from £600.

If you missed the earlier posts... it's Zebrano with spacer staves made from offcuts of Zebrano, Maple and Sapele.

Project Maple continues too! Steam bending a bit more today and hopefully by the beginning of next week another set of re-rings can be put in situ 🤞🤞🤞

Slow week in the workshop... the sun came out - had to get some of that vitamin D! 😎But today we checked in on the lates...

Slow week in the workshop... the sun came out - had to get some of that vitamin D! 😎

But today we checked in on the latest shell (zebrano with spacers made out of some leftover zebrano, maple and sapele) and did some turning 🥁 quite like it!

Yup, been a while... table saw took a turn for the worse but then, a week or so later, a replacement part arrived 🙏

So been trying something a bit different with some offcuts... staves made of Zebrano with an edge of a little more Zerbano, some Sapele and Maple 🥁

Throwback Thursday has gotta go to the array of visitors to the stand at Dorset Drum Fest last month 🥁

As drummers, we like to make noise and you lot made my day at DDF26 - so many styles, so many personalities! Some new faces, some familiar faces but absolutely: all good faces behind the kit and trying the snares - thank you so much 🙏

Workshop update!

So, my table saw has now decided to have a hissy fit and needs fixing with a new part from the manufacturer 😵‍💫

There's been a lot of tidying going on in the interim...

Before that, I did mange to do soem cutting with the little bit of Zebrano leftover and I was (still am) wondering about pairing it with the last of the Lacewood... but cutting that will now have to wait (same issue with Project Maple)

Other than that, the sun has made a miraculous return and today is my birthday so... normal service will hopefully resume again very soon 🍻🥁👍

Also turned the Lacewood ...more on that later (loving it... can't wait to see it with a bit of oil or gloss - haven't decided which finish yet so watch this space!)
