💭 Something that’s been playing on my mind since the Newtown Food Festival…

I’ve debated whether to post this, but I think it’s important to share.

While I was at the festival, a couple of young girls/women walked past my stall and commented that everything on it was from SHEIN.

I’m not going to lie — that really upset me. 💔
Every single crochet item on my stall was made by me, by hand, with hours of time, patience and love put into it. 🧶❤️

I work full time during the week, so getting everything ready for the festival was no small task. I spent my evenings and weekends crocheting, making sure I had enough stock, preparing everything and putting together a stall that I was genuinely so proud of.

So to hear someone look at all of that and assume I had simply bought it from SHEIN was incredibly disheartening.

I know not everyone understands how much time goes into handmade items. A small crochet piece can take hours to make, and behind every item is someone who has chosen to spend their time creating it rather than simply buying something mass-produced.

I’m not posting this to have a go at anyone. I just wanted to explain that words can sometimes hurt more than you realise, especially when they are directed at something someone has worked really hard on.

I was incredibly proud of my stall that day, and I’m still proud of it. 🥰

So, for anyone who has supported Hooks and Kisses Crochet, bought something, stopped to have a chat, asked about how things are made, taken a card or simply shown an interest — thank you. It genuinely means more than you know. ❤️🧶

And just to make it absolutely clear…
No, it’s not from SHEIN. I made it. 🥰🧶✨

🌞 Good morning, crochet friends! 🧶❤️

I’ve got something a little different to share today!
I’ll be joining a special Crochet Along to help raise money for The Royal British Legion ❤️🌺

I’ll be picking up my hook and yarn alongside other crocheters to create something special while supporting such an important cause. 🧶✨

And an extra special thank you to those who have already messaged me with orders since the festival!🥹🧶 Seeing people go home, think about what they’d seen and then get back in touch to order really does mean the world.
It was so lovely meeting so many of you and getting to show off all the things I’ve been working so hard on🥰
