If you’ve not been you’re honestly missing out! Top class cocktails, stunning decor and a beautiful bespoke vintage hi-fi. What’s not to love?!

I’ll be playing some Afrobeat gems alongside a generous helping of Acid Jazz, Deep Funk and Roots Reggae to set the mood on a warm summer’s eve.
Come down sip a fancy bevvy and soak in some serious good vibes. On the decks 6-10pm Tues 21st July - just of Castle Street, down on the lower level of Queen Avenue.

Saturday 23rd - (8pm-midnight) - always a pleasure to be back in the cultural hub of New Brighton. I’ll be spinning some dancefloor scorchers from the worlds of Disco, Afrobeat, Latin, Hip Hop and some funky deep cuts.

Sunday 24th - supporting the mighty and The Congos at - This one is going to be special! Roots reggae legends straight outta Black Ark and into Birkenhead! The mighty will be bringing their unstoppable sound to the garden 🙌🙌🙌 One of their only UK dates besides Glasto. So, you don’t wanna miss this one.

Myself and the wonderful will be providing some heavy-hitting Roots selections throughout the evening.

With the incredible .jahnoi stepping up as main support with backing from Merseyside’s premier Riddim dealers - Gonna be straight 🔥🔥🔥

The footy will be shown from 5pm in the Yellow Room, so come down and grab a slice of the tastiest pizza in Merseyside and then have a skank from 7pm in the Live Room with us.

Absolutely buzzing to have the full final line-up for FUTURE NOW 2024 announced today. Been working on this little beauty since December.

I’ve handpicked 60 artists to descend upon Birkenhead this August Bank Holiday and blow your bloody socks off!

From glorious Birko debuts by the likes of and both headlining the Town Hall to rollicking FY returns from and many other Future Yard favourites.

Delighted to be bringing old friends to the venue for the first time like and as well as showcasing 30+ of the best local acts and headliners of the future!

Too many “not-to-be-missed” artists to mention in one post so maybe I’ll do a few “Mat’s Top Tips” between now and August!

I’ll be in charge of pre-party vibes in the bar and yellow room from 7pm - all the lip-smacking pizza and tastebud tingling craft b**r that you could ever hope for! Accompanied by some classic soul 7”s.

Medicine Men will be warming up the Live Room with their eclectic genre-spanning and quite frankly enormous music collection - so it promises to be one hell of a funky night!

WE’RE MOVING…
Sunday 24th September will be our last day in our current location.

As many of you will already know, but for those of you who don’t - myself and Laura are moving to the East Coast! And we’ve made the difficult decision to move Slipmat Records with us. West Kirby has been the perfect place for us to start up and grow straight after the pandemic but logistically it would be impossible for us to keep it going from 150 miles away, so it’s coming with us to pop-up again somewhere new!

A huge thank you to all of our wonderful customers, your continued support has been outstanding. A separate thank you to everyone who has helped us out since day one - Alan, Steve, Dave, Dan, Stew, Graham, Clive, Paddy, Connor Maloney and of course Laura (to name a few!) - I couldn’t have done this without you.

And a massive thank you to for putting up with us for the last 2 and a half years! Keep following her socials to keep up to date with all the latest works, exhibitions and workshops.
