All our shades are carefully hand rolled resulting in a beautiful and unique product. Around a year ago I was struggling to find a lampshade that suited the décor of my lounge. After many hours of searching the high street, I decided to give it a bash at making my own - I was so pleased with what I had achieved that one turned into two and slowly I began to realise that I might actually be able to
help other people to create that last finishing touch to their room. Shade by the Sea was born and has been slowly expanding providing bespoke shades for more and more customers. Based by the beautiful coast in North Somerset, each of the shades is made to order - hence why you may have a short wait while your order is made. The carefully selected fabrics are hand rolled and carefully tucked neatly under the frame of the shade giving the product a really professional finish. A variety of shapes and sizes are available as well as a range of carefully hand selected fabrics. Shades can be created using fabric that you already have - a great way to use up that left over curtain fabric! All shades are made with a flame retardant and anti yellowing PVC lining.
