The Weybridge Bookshop

Our book club here at The Weybridge Bookshop has been a source of constant joy this past year. My personal favourites have been The Island of Missing Trees by Elif Shafak and The Lamplighters by Emma Stonex but the group have barely put a foot wrong with their choices.

Our final read of the year is Unsettled Ground by Claire Fuller.

A huge thank you to all the book club members that have made 2022 such an enjoyable year of reading.

Our next meeting is on Wednesday January 4th.

After the highly popular choice of Sarah Winman's 'Still Life', which we read during March, the Walton and Weybridge Bookshop Book Club has chosen 'The Lamplighters' by Emma Stonex as our book for April.

Personally, I'm delighted as it gives me the perfect excuse to read the lovely hardback edition I picked up last year!

If you're interested in joining our Book Club, pop into The Weybridge Bookshop for a chat. We're friendly!

A bit of blatant self-promotion for us but we don't do this sort of thing very often at The Weybridge Bookshop. All hardbacks, big or small, at half-price for the next three days.

Just stunning. A book every Beatles fan should own. The words to so much of the soundtrack of our lives.

So which is your favourite of his songs?

Recently arrived - a beautiful upgrade for that tatty paperback you've passed around amongst your friends. A genuine modern classic fully deserving of the de-luxe treatment.

Excited to be pulling together a table of our favourite fiction in translation.

First side complete but waiting on a few more titles to arrive for the rest of it. Modern Classics get a reprieve... for now.

New on the shelves of The Weybridge Bookshop...

'Briskly written and compulsively readable...Does Andrew Lownie persuade me that it is worth telling the story again, and that he has made out the case for his unforgiving title? The answer is an unambiguous yes.' -- A.N. Wilson ― TLS

So great to have .author in the shop to say hello this weekend. Our signed edition of her debut novel, Careless, is in store and modelled here by the author in matching outfit 😄

Very exciting to see this arrive in today - newly in paperback with an exclusive outtake chapter AND first chapter of the next book. The only problem will be finding someone who hasn’t read it already!
