The idea for Wrap Bee Up came about when our eldest daughter was appalled at the number of sandwich bags we used on a daily basis when making packed lunches for our family of six. There was only so much teenage eye-rolling that we could put up with before deciding to look into alternatives and that was when we discovered beeswax wraps. We started using them in our own household to wrap up sandwich

es and cakes and cover bowls/plates and then decided to try and help other households to reduce their use of single-use plastic by producing them to sell. Our wraps are handmade on the Jurassic Coast and are made from natural ingredients: 100% cotton, English beeswax, jojoba oil and pine resin. They are a perfect alternative to clingfilm or sandwich bags and are totally resuable. Furthermore, if cared for correctly, they will last for approximately one year at which point they can be composted or used as firelighters. Caring for your wraps is simple - just remember that heat is not your friend when dealing with beeswax wraps as it will melt and damage the wax. Instead, after use, simply hand wash in cool water with a small amount of soap and dry away from sunlight. Do not use on raw meat or fish.
