Whickham Cards & Gifts

New stock in today…..great as a little stocking filler!

Sharing this as it is so true……not only for a card and gift shop but for any small independent shop. Every purchase matters to keep these shops open and we really do appreciate your custom 😊

It was a pretty slow day today…the change in weather definitely meant less people were out and about shopping…I had a day of getting jobs done and was feeling a bit “meh” when 15 minutes before closing I had a customer come in and double what I’d taken throughout the whole day….her purchases made a massive difference to my day and I made a point of thanking her…if you’re reading this, thank you again.

Every single purchase makes a difference, whether it be a 1 pound bookmark or a 50 pound artwork…but on the days when hardly anyone has been in, all it takes is for one person to do a big chunk of shopping to make opening worth while.

As we edge closer to the festive season I encourage you to support your small independent shops in your home towns…your purchase may be the purchase that makes the difference on the day you choose to shop there.

Don’t know where the time has gone but it’s 2 years tomorrow since Simon and I become the new owners of such a well loved card shop in Whickham. To mark the occasion we are giving out a little Christmas wax melt to our first lot of customers tomorrow (until we run out). We would also like to express our sincere thanks to you all for continuing to support your local little shop. We wouldn’t be here without you …..see you all tomorrow ❤️

So what’s been going on this weekend?? After a full on few hours with all the grandchildren, which we absolutely loved, we are now soaking another load of dried fruit for Christmas cake No. 2…😊

Just a reminder that we are selling our bespoke Whickham calendar this year at £9.99. We are struggling to find space for everything this year (and that’s before the Christmas gifts go out) so please ask if you are interested but can’t find it 😁
