Finally managed to get to the test range to load test Lee’s new hunting r***e
Built on a left hand Gunwerks long action we fitted a 24 inch Proof Research carbon wrapped barrel in Sendero lite profile . This was chambered in the venerable 30.06 Springfield cartridge using a Manson Precision reamer . Fire control was courtesy of a Trigger Tech primary trigger set at 2lb . The barreled action was dropped into a Greybo Pheonix 2 left hand stock using Greyboe’s own M5 bottom metal to run MDT magazines. The full length MLOC under fiend rail has a Spartan bipod adaptor fitted .
Optics come via Schmidt and Bender compact 3-18 x 42 set in Contessa lightweight piccatiny rings set on 2 piece Gunwerks bases . This was a terrific piece of glass !!!!
Sound suppression was an
HQS moderator mounted on an M15x1.0 metric thread .
Testing was done at 100yards over a sand bag rest . PPU brass with Wi******er Staball 6.5 powder , lit by Sellier and Bellot large r***e primers with 175 grain tipped Sierra Game Changer bullets at 3.330 inches overall length. 56.1 grains gave just over 1/4 inch center to center. The best place to quit is success. The scopes turrets were zeroed, barrel cleaned , am******on made and this r***e is now ready for Lee to take to the field .

We seem to be doing quite a few CZ 457 rebuilds recently, and I must confess I find them enjoyable and extremely satisfying to work on .
This r***e has had its receiver trued and threaded to accept a threaded 1 inch parallel Lothar Walther 1:16 twist barrel that we Cnc profiled in house . Not only does this r***e have our tuner system but it also has the wraith sound moderator as well made to fit the tuner thread setup .
Test firing was great fun as this r***e generates no more noise than a hamster farting !!!!! ( not my words but an observation by a trusted friend and colleague 😂)
We fired 10 shot groups at 50 yards and the results were quite impressive

Scottie’s Vudoo after receiving its new barrel .
A 1:16 twist lother Walther stainless steel blank in a 1.250 straight profile wearing our in house tuner setup .
The barreled action sits in the superalive MDT ACC elite chassis with full weight accessories and baker wings . The ARCA rail also accepts the bag carrier which is a particularly nice feature .
The r***e was test fired at 50 yards and shot very nicely with Lapua , which seems to be the ammo of choice at the moment for serious PRS competitors.

Just finished for young Tom , an Anschutz bench rest Rimfire r***e, rebarreled with a Lother Walther 26 inch long 1:16 twist stainless steel barrel . Chambered with the victory reamer and fitted with our tuner system this r***e shot very well straight out of the gate with both Lapua Center X And Midas plus am******on. Testing was done at 50 yards shot of of a sandbag rest . No doubt the groups will be better when using a proper front rest and rear bag setup.

We do try very hard to accommodate people ; we really do. Without exception I try to remain polite, courteous . And well mannered when posting or replying to emails , messages etc .
One hopes that the hospitality and cooperation shown is in some way reciprocated.
However today : Sunday I had plans to get the final preparations done for a business trip I have next week . A LOT to sort out for that trip . A young man calls , needs his r***e re barreled in short order . Can’t make it during the week can’t make it on Saturday. I agreed to make the journey into the workshop on Sunday on the proviso that he be there in the morning before midday. As I have a lot to do .
The upshot is he did not turn up , no phone call . No email , no text nothing . So a wasted day for me .
Do not be surprised when in future that such accommodations have been withdrawn. Not just for one but for Everyone !!!!!
Common courtesy dictates that you inform someone if you cannot make the appointment. My time is a precious as everyone else’s . Do not waste it .

A wonderful surprise awaited me when I dropped in to West Midlands Shooting Ground on Saturday to catch up with old friends and clients alike .
Abbie Shorter the creative genius behind Precision Pickles shooting products presented me with a truly magnificent desk organiser resplendent with the Brock and Norris honey badger !!!!!
Abbie said it was for services rendered and help given . I was delighted and very humbled to be held in enough regard that she would create such a wonderful gift. THANK YOU PICKLE !!!!! Ps I take the hint I will get my desk organised. 😂😂😂

This weekend saw another 2 day PRS22 match shot at the stunning and equally testing course at the sweat Midlands Shooting Ground, be Hodnet .
Wonderfully balmy conditions on Saturday saw a large number of shooters separated by only a couple of points . Sunday gave way to more testing, windier weather . Some great shooting was seen on both days and as always a fantastically friendly atmosphere was the norm with experienced shooters helping and encouraging newcomers to the sport . Simply marvellous!!!
Brock and Norris shooters did very well with Joe Pask in top spot , The one and only Ryan Charlton in second and Charles Martin in third . Ladies honours fell to the lovely Annie Lou Charlton. Top junior and top Marksman was won by Riley Cooper.
Special mention must go to 11 year old Nina “noodle “ Spedding who is improving shoot on shoot . Cleaning the tank trap stage and getting a huge cheer from her squad : well done Noodle !!!
This is the second podium clean sweep of the season for B&N shooters. We would like to thank you most sincerely for allowing us to be part of your success

Effective as of this morning: I am retiring. After 30 years I decided it is time to walk away from the industry and pursue my spiritual calling as a missionary.
